Synthetic amyloid ß-peptide (5-16): RHDSGYEVHHQK-NH2 represents part of the larger amyloid ß-peptide that precipitates as amyloid plaques in the brain of patients with Alzheimer's disease (1). The plaque-related peptides are 40-43 amino acid residues in length (2).

The binding of HYB 310-08 to amyloid ß-peptide depends on the presence of at least aminoacid residues 10-16.
Epitope specificity differs from that of HYB 310-03 and HYB 310-07
HYB 310-08 was tested by ELISA in wells coated with BSA-coupled synthetic peptides from the amyloid ß-peptide.
HYB 310-08 is suitable for immunoaffinity purification of amyloid ß-peptide (4).

The dilution guideline for ELISA is based on use as detection antibody for BSA-coupled synthetic peptides from the amyloid ß-peptide coated at 0.01-0.1 µg/ml. Users should determine the optimal dilutions for their own purposes.
