Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) is a cytokine produced by activated monocytes and macrophages. TNF-alpha stimulates inflammation and can act directly as an inducer of apoptosis. It mediates many of the systemic acute phase responses but can also cause septic shock in patients with serious infections. Human TNF-alpha is a 17.4 kDa protein containing 157 amino acid residues (1).
Human TNF-alpha adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide gel
HYB 141-08 is specific for human TNF-alpha
Not determined
In ELISA HYB 141-08 reacts strongly with human TNF-alpha with the antigen coated directly onto the microtiter well.
