Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a 36-amino-acid residue peptide with sequence and 3-D structural homology with PYY and pancreatic polypeptide (PP). NPY serves as a neurotransmitter and is exclusively localized in neurons in the central and peripheral nervous system. NPY is associated with the regulation of heart rate and food intake in several mammalian species.
Synthetic human/rat NPY coupled to carrier with glutaraldehyde
ABS 028-08 binds full length human/rat NPY. Cross-reactivity with NPY (1-24) , NPY (18-36), PYY or PP was <0.2%.
The epitope of ABS 028-08 is probably around the mid-molecular region, NPY (18-24).
ABS 028-08 binds free NPY in solution.
ABS 028-08 reacts in ELISA directly with NPY coated directly onto the microtiter well.
