Anti-Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1(1-36) amide, N-terminal-extension specific)

Mouse monoclonal antibody

Cat.No. HYB 011-05

Subclass IgG1/k
Presentation:

Preparation: Protein-A/G purified
Content: Available in 200 μL and 1 mL size.1 mg/mL +/- 15%. See Certificate of Analysis for details.
Solvent: 0.01 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, with 0.5 M NaCl and 15 mM sodium azide
Storage: 4-8ºC without exposure to light. No precautions necessary during handling.

Antigen:

GLP-1 is a peptide hormone of the glucagon family, produced by the L cells of the intestinal mucosa from the same prohormone as glucagon. The active forms are potent stimulators of glucose-dependent insulin secretion. GLP-1 (1-36) amide is an incompletely prosessed precursor form showing relatively little bioactivity.

Immunogen:

Synthetic peptide adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide gel

Specificity:

HYB 011-05 is specific for the N-terminal region (residues 1-6) of the GLP-1. No cross-reactitvity with GLP-1 (7-36) amide or (7-37). GLP-1 is 100% conserved in all tested mammalian species.

Epitope specificity:

Residues 1-6 of GLP-1

Reactivity:

HYB 011-05 reacts with the low activity enzyme GLP-1(1-36)amide, but not with either of the activated forms GLP-1(7-36)amide and GLP-1(7-37)amide.
