Anti-Mannan-binding lectin (MBL, chicken)
Mouse monoclonal antibody
Cat.No. HYB 182-01
Preparation: Protein-A purified
Content: Available in 200 µL and 1 mL volumes, 1 mg/mL
Solvent: 0.01 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, containing 0.5 M NaCl and 15mM sodium azide
Storage: In the dark at 4-8ºC
Mannan-binding lectin (MBL) belongs to the C-type family of collectins. It functions as an opsonin which activates complement on binding to microbial polysaccharides. Studies on chicken MBL are described in refs 1-4
MBL purified from chicken plasma and adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide
HYB 182-01 is specific for chicken MBL
Not determined
In ELISA HYB 182-01 reacts strongly with chicken MBL. HYB 182-01 can be used as coating antibody (5 µg/mL) with biotinylated HYB 182-01 as detection antibody (1 µg/mL) in sandwich ELISA (1-3)

The dilution guideline for ELISA is based on use as detection antibody for antigen bound via mannan coated at 3 µg/mL mL together with human albumin 8.5 µg/mL onto the microtiter well. Users should determine the optimal dilutions for their own purposes.
