Complement factor D is a serine protease of the alternative pathway of complement activation. The protein is a single chain polypeptide with a molecular mass of 25 kDa. Factor D cleaves factor B bound to C3b, generating the alternative pathway C3 convertase C3bBb and releasing the Ba fragment.
Human Factor D (1)
GAU 010-04 is specific for complement factor D in human serum and plasma (1).
Epitope specificity differs from that of HYB 008-01 (1).
GAU 010-04 can be used as a capture antibody in sandwich ELISA with biotinylated GAU 008-01 as detection antibody (1). GAU 010-04 can be used for Western blotting following SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions (2).
