Anti-Complement factor B (human)

Mouse monoclonal antibody, biotinylated

Cat.No. HYB 008-06B

Subclass IgG1/k
Presentation:

Preparation: Biotinylated
Content: 100 μL, 1 mg/mL +/- 15%. See Certificate of Analysis for details.
Solvent: 0.01 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, with 0.14 M NaCl and 15 mM sodium azide
Storage: 4-8ºC without exposure to light. No precautions necessary during handling.

Antigen:

Factor B is a component of the alternative pathway of complement activation. The protein consists of a single polypeptide chain of molecular mass 93 kDa, and has a concentration in plasma of approximately 200 µg/mL. Factor B is cleaved by factor D into the Ba component (30 kDa) and the Bb (63 kDa). Together with C3b, Bb forms the alternative pathway C3 convertase C3bBb (1).

Immunogen:

Complement factor B purified from human plasma and adsorbed to aluminum hydroxide gel

Specificity:

HYB 008-06 is specific for the Ba fragment of human factor B.

Epitope specificity:

Differs from that of HYB 008-02, HYB 008-04 and HAV 005-02.

Reactivity:

HYB 008-06 reacts strongly with human factor B. A strong reaction is seen when coated directly onto the microtiter well and also when used as a biotinylated detection antibody in sandwich ELISA with a polyclonal capture antibody against factor B (e.g. Dako A0343). In Western blotting after SDS-PAGE, HYB 008-06 reacts with the Ba fragment of factor B in its non-reduced form only.
