Mouse monoclonal antibody

Cat.No. HYB 232-11

Subclass IgG2b/k
Presentation:

Preparation: Protein-A/G purified
Content: Available in 200 µL and 1 mL size.1 mg/mL +/- 15%. See Certificate of Analysis for details.
Solvent: 0.01 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, with 0.5 M NaCl and 15mM sodium azide
Storage: 4-8ºC without exposure to light. No precautions necessary during handling.

Antigen:

Protein S is a vitamin K-dependent, potent neutral anticoagulant plasma glycoprotein. Protein S has a molecular weight of approximately 70 kDa and consists of a single polypeptide chain. The concentration of protein S in human plasma is 25 µg/ml, with a half-life of approximately two days. About 40% of protein S in plasma is in a free form, wheraes 60% is complexed with C4b-binding Protein (C4BP). Only the free protein S functions as a cofactor to antigen presenting cells (APC) in the APC-dependent degradation of Factor Va and Factor VIIIa.

Immunogen:

Protein S isolated from human plasma adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide gel

Specificity:

HYB 232-11 has specificity for human protein S

Epitope specificity:

Not determined

Reactivity:

HYB 232-11 reacts strongly with protein S. A strong reaction is seen in sandwich ELISA in combination with a biotinlabeled antibody against protein S. Reactivity is Ca++ dependent and is optimal when using a tris-buffer containing 1 mM CaCl2. In Dot blotting SDS-treatment abolishes the reactivity.
