An important addition to our complement antibody collection: Anti-C5b-9 (human) antibody

May 27 2008  by Lisbeth Kobberup Milling

BioPorto Diagnostics is happy to be able to offer a new monoclonal antibody DIA 011-01, which enables the measurement of the terminal complement complex (TCC), which is formed in the terminal step of the complement cascade.

C5b-9 is also known as the TCC. The TCC consists of C5b, C6, C7, C8 and C9 and forms transmembrane channels which displace lipid molecules and other constituents, thus disrupting the phospholipid bilayer of target cells leading to cell lysis by osmotic leakage. The complex contains neoantigens that are absent from the individual native components and the new monoclonal antibody DIA 011-01 is directed against a neoepitope exposed in C9 when incorporated into TCC.

By launching DIA 011-01 BioPorto Diagnostics now offers a comprehensive collection of complement antibodies for research use.
