Board of Directors
BioPorto’s Board of Directors currently consists of four members:
Mr. Carsten Lønfeldt (1947)
M.Sc. (Econ), Copenhagen Business School.
Chairman and board member since 2007.
Until the end of 2006, Carsten Lønfeldt was Group Director in Coloplast A/S following a twenty-year career of management responsibilities in the company within a number of strategic key areas such as economy and finance, IT, HR, planning, corporate control and investor relations. After retiring from Coloplast, Carsten Lønfeldt has concentrated on his efforts at various board positions and is a member of the Advisory Board for OMX The Nordic Exchange, Copenhagen, among others. Based on his wide-ranging management background and insight into the biotech industry, Carsten Lønfeldt provides BioPorto with business expertise, which contributes to BioPorto’s continued strategic development.
Mr. Niels T. Foged (1961)
M.Sc. (Chemical Engineering)
Board member since 2007.
Niels Tækker Foged is Chief Scientific Officer in Visiopharm A/S and has worked with research and development, both in public-sector research positions and in management positions in the biotech industry for most of his career. Until 2006, he was head of research and development for DAKO Denmark A/S, which focuses on development of antibodies for diagnostics, just as BioPorto. Niels Tækker Foged is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and the author of a number of internationally recognised scientific articles in fields such as microbiology. The combination of Niels Tækker Foged’s scientific, market-related and management background is an important asset to BioPorto in the Company’s continued focus on research and development of diagnostic products.
Mr. Peter Nordkild (1955)
M.D.
Board member since 2007.
Peter Nordkild is CEO for Egalet, and until 2007, he was Chief Commercial Officer and member of the group management for Pharmexa. Peter Nordkild is a qualified physician and has worked for a number of companies within the pharmaceutical industry, from 2000 employed as Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations in Ferring Pharmaceuticals. Primary responsibilities were expansion and growth of Ferring’s operations outside North America and the original EU countries with a particular focus on Japan, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. During the previous 12 years, Peter Nordkild held a number of different positions within Novo Nordisk. Peter Nordkild’s unique international experience is particularly relevant in the continued strategic exploitation of BioPorto’s market-related potential.
Mr. Ejner Bech Jensen (1955)
M.Sc. (Engineering)
Board member since 2005.
Ejner Bech Jensen is President of Novozymes Inc, California and Vice President of Microbial Biotechnology, R and D , Novozymes, Denmark . In his current position he is responsible for Novozymes research on an international scale with research groups in US, DK, JP and India reporting to him. The focus is industrial use of biotechnology and securing a leadership position within gene technology, system biology, microbiology, protein chemistry and artificial evolution. Prior to his current position with Novozymes, he had a long career with Novo Nordisk and Nordisk Gentofte in different management and research positions, but with a continuous focus on biotechnological R and D. Ejner Bech Jensen brings to the Board valuable R and D and IPR expertise, experiense within strategic planning, business development and management and pharmaceutical development.
